Our client, based in Dublin North is looking for a Progress Developer. The job will primarily involve working from specification to develop new enhancements to applications using the Progress software development environment and tools. There will also be a level of maintenance development of the application software. You will have experience of using the PROGRESS character programming and database tools confidently in order to carry out development tasks. Implement new development on customer site professionally and with due care to the customers business, liaising with customers and company staff
You will have at least 3 years experience in software development experience in a commercial environment, with at least one year fulltime working with the Progress development environment. Flexibility and ability to work outside normal business hours and to travel to and work on customer sites for up to 1-3 weeks at a time.
Experience of a similar 4GL & database environment (e.g. Oracle, Sybase,
Informix, Ingress, SQL server, etc), Microsoft.NET framework an advantage.
With this position you will have the opportunity to learn the MS .NET application development environment and the new Progress environment with a view to assist in future development of the application.
